Iranian Forces State Attack on American Facility in Bahrain, As Part of Regional Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone close to the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is not yet known and the American officials has not commented.
Missile Defenses Activated
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on sites associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.
Regional Fallout
In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
Officials reported debris landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
