President Trump Calls Families of Attacked National Guard Members to White House

President Trump announced on the weekend that he has asked the relatives of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the presidential home.

He noted that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Incident

US army specialist Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Vigils across the state have been held in their remembrance.

Presidential Call

The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a visit to the White House for the parents of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a difficult moment, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president addressed journalists. “And similarly with Andrew, recover or not.”

Public Support

Attendees came together over the weekend at Webster County high school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the West Virginia National Guard as part of Trump’s government program to support policing efforts in the capital.

Paying Tribute to Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the individual that educators hoped for. She conducted herself with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a positive energy that lifted people around her,” Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, informed the press. “She was kind, compassionate and always eager to support those in need.”

Service details for Beckstrom are still being arranged.

Judicial Steps and Policy Adjustments

Law enforcement have accused a 29-year-old suspect with one count of murder and charges of assault with intent to kill while carrying a weapon.

The event prompted the government to halt asylum applications and cease granting entry permits to owners of travel documents.

Status of the Airman

The airman, a native of the city, started his military career in 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, per the news agency.

He continues to receive treatment and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi told a news show that she aimed to speak to Wolfe’s family.

Impact of Sarah Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from her high school in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a MP with honor, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she definitely had courage,” Morrisey addressed the audience at the service. “Though her life was cut short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
