Renowned Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic television series like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in LA recently after undergoing cancer treatment from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a statement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Notable Television Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on several popular shows, such as:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
