Ways these Denver Broncos and the flexible quarterback could halt the Kansas City Chiefs' dominance.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Live coverage features text commentary for Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available through designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).
We're in the sixth week in the football calendar , after recent talk about two top teams as possible championship contenders, each surrendered their perfect starts.
Striking in those games was the number of penalties each conceded. The Eagles did so at crucial times so they kind of defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this weekend.
However it proved positive to observe how Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to overcome the shortfall before direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the game by four points.
Denver have the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They are number one in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, and Denver won that battle.
They had the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They weren't always rushing more than four defenders but they might plug two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel from the outside.
Early on of the season, it was noted during a show that Denver could be this season's dark horses. They ended the previous year strongly and did a good job in continuing that momentum.
Could Denver be this season's underdog story?
Recently acquired tight end their tight end has excelled significantly and recent running back their rusher is a guy they believe in. He's currently 5th league-wide in ground gains (over 400) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
I love how head coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.
That shows that Denver represent a team that wants to prioritize the run, because you can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes and keeps you in favourable down and distances.
This has helped QB the young passer, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).
Other elite QBs have the arm strength to throw anywhere, however they don't move in the same way as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, a unique trait, and he's so athletic.
His assets include his mobility, the capacity to pass while moving, and finding varied release points to deliver the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle and over the corner.
As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of composure under pressure and is not bothered by extra rushers. He aims to avoid a sack as much as possible and is able pass in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.
When you consistently run the ball it eats up the clock and makes the defence to stay in play for longer, and if you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to cover the area downfield and horizontally. It can be exhausting.
The quarterback has bitten back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and it seems the coach appreciates that attitude, that he's such a competitor. I think it's fun for him to have a rookie QB who's similar to play-dough. He can really develop him how he wants to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.
The head coach has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. I think the success Denver are having offensively is largely due to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix aids shape him what he is.
You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.
I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team strong enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.
Right now, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're working above average, which is a solid position to hold their division. All they need is to continue this trajectory.
They're really good at leaning into their forte, which is running the ball, and this is precisely what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they are the only team yet to win a game.
Ever since the league began tracking turnovers in 1933, this team are also the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss to Jacksonville.
After this Sunday's game, Denver face a manageable slate until their break (in week twelve) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.
Looking at their division, Kansas City hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the West.
It depends upon which form Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
